It runs through a small relay box on the office network, not Lorex's cloud. Lorex has no public API. Every verdict depends on the NVR and doorbell model numbers, which nobody has read off the hardware yet.

🧱 How it would work

A box on the office network runs go2rtc. It pulls the NVR's camera streams and the doorbell's stream, and converts them to formats phones and browsers play.
That box joins a private Tailscale network with the door backend on Fly.io. Nothing on the office network opens to the internet.
The door passes streams through only after staff login, with a per-role list of which cameras each person may see, and short-lived signed links.
A camera page on staff.therecording.club plays live view and recordings by time range.
iOS opens that page in the in-app browser now, with no new build. A later App Store build adds native playback with expo-video. Two-way doorbell talk needs react-native-webrtc, which also means a new build. Inference

🔒 Security rules for this build

Never port-forward the NVR. Ports 554, 80 and 37777 stay closed to the internet, and go2rtc is never public. go2rtc warns that API access means danger.
FactDahua's login-bypass flaws (CVE-2021-33044 and 33045) have been on the CISA exploited-vulnerabilities list since August 21, 2024.
